Though there are only a few tiny sunspots on view today (almost impossible to pick out in this image) the quiet sun is a busy place in a narrow band of the red spectrum where hydrogen plasma activity can be seen.

The solar disk is captured with a 0.5 Angstrom bandpass... the prominences using 0.7A. Here is a composite image showing how narrowing the bandpass affects contrast. Here is a variation shown in positive light.
